Our client, a well-established and growing security systems specialist based in Ilkeston, is looking to recruit an experienced Security Systems Engineer to join their expanding team. The business delivers high-quality CCTV and access control installations and service work across commercial and industrial environments throughout the UK.

This is a field-based engineering role focused on the installation, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding of integrated security systems. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Paxton access control systems and Hikvision CCTV, and will be confident working independently on client sites.

As the new Security Engineer, you will:

• Install, commission and service CCTV systems, primarily Hikvision
• Install, maintain and fault-find Paxton access control systems
• Diagnose and resolve system faults efficiently on client sites
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work
• Work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams and site specifications
• Complete accurate service documentation and compliance reports
• Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and internal teams
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of safety and quality

Requirements for this role:

• Proven experience as a Security Systems Engineer or similar field-based role
• Strong, hands-on experience with Paxton access control systems (essential)
• Experience with Hikvision CCTV systems (essential or highly desirable)
• Ability to install, commission and fault-find systems independently
• Confident reading and working from wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
• Full UK driving licence
• Full right to work in the UK
• Based within a commutable distance of Ilkeston for equipment collection

Desirable experience:

• IP networking and switch configuration
• Experience with multi-site commercial security systems
• Additional CCTV or access control manufacturer experience
