Financial Planner

A well-established investment and wealth management business is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Planner to join its Leeds-based financial planning team.
Working closely with the Head of Financial Planning and alongside experienced Investment Managers, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, tailored financial advice to private clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Financial Planner who enjoys working closely with clients and investment professionals, while continuing to develop their knowledge and expertise within an established and growing business.

The Role

You will provide comprehensive financial planning advice, helping clients understand and achieve their longer-term financial objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing advice across areas including retirement planning, tax and investment structuring, inheritance tax and estate planning
• Developing a detailed understanding of each client's financial circumstances, objectives and wider financial position
• Constructing and delivering tailored financial planning recommendations and advice
• Building trusted relationships with clients, intermediaries and internal stakeholders
• Acting as a source of technical expertise and supporting the wider business with high-quality financial planning knowledge
• Working closely with Investment Managers and the wider investment team to deliver a joined-up client proposition
• Responding to client and technical queries by telephone, email, correspondence and face-to-face meetings
• Supporting ad-hoc client requirements and wider team activity as required
• Contributing to a positive team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting the ongoing development of colleagues
• Identifying and escalating any risks that could impact clients or the firm's reputation
• Ensuring all advice and activity is delivered with integrity and in line with regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent)
• Good knowledge of financial services, FCA requirements and a broad range of financial products and services
• Experience working in a financial planning or wealth management environment
• Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex financial information and develop appropriate recommendations
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust with clients and professional contacts
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• The ability to manage workload effectively, work independently and use initiative
• A genuine commitment to delivering excellent client service and maintaining high professional standards
