Lead Pricing Analyst

£45k per annum
Full-time
  • Join the Pricing Analytics team with a focus on Risk Pricing and Loss Cost Modelling
  • Support the development and optimisation of General Insurance pricing models across the motor line of business
  • Enjoy hybrid working with 80% of your time from home and 20% at our Head Office to support a healthy work/life balance
  • About the role

As a Lead Pricing Analyst, you will be a technical role model, using your knowledge of general insurance pricing disciplines to influence and deliver on department projects. This will include extracting, checking, monitoring and analysing data; identifying underlying performance trends and areas of opportunity in order to drive performance, impact change and achieve wider business objectives.

Through utilising pricing techniques, software skills and industry experience you will add to the team’s technical capability and will help ensure the effective development and delivery of accurate prices for our customers.

As a Lead Analyst, you will also utilise your technical expertise to help coach, mentor and train team members in order to improve the team’s technical capability and the ability of team members to self-manage own work.

    About you

You'll be a Pricing professional with recent experience working within a UK General Insurance environment. You'll bring strong technical expertise, including hands-on experience with SQL and confidence working with large and complex datasets. Experience in data extraction, cleansing and validation is essential, alongside a strong appreciation of data quality and governance.

You'll have experience using pricing and modelling tools such as Emblem and Radar, with exposure to loss cost modelling and other statistical or predictive modelling techniques. Experience with R, RStudio or Python would be advantageous.

Alongside your technical capability, you'll be a highly analytical thinker who can apply data-driven insights to real business challenges and opportunities. You'll be comfortable presenting complex analysis and technical concepts to a range of stakeholders in a clear, engaging and impactful way, adapting your approach to suit different audiences.

As a Lead Analyst, you will also be able to demonstrate the following:

    • A naturally curious, proactive and resilient mindset, with the drive and motivation to take ownership and make an impact
    • Confidence to take a broader view, shaping solutions rather than just delivering tasks
    • Ability to support and enable others in the team to achieve their best.

At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique. We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees.

We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.

We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, a Race at Work and Women in Finance Charter signatory and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability, neurodiversity, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.
