Grey Gable Surgery is a rural dispensing practice providing friendly, supportive, and high performing care for over 6300 patients. Training practice Active involvement in clinical research Maximum QOF points Rated Good by CQC at our last inspection in 2025, we pride ourselves on providing an excellent service in a caring and friendly manner. We have a busy dispensary with 90% of our patients eligible for dispensing. We are also a training practice, currently hosting an ST3. Job responsibilities

- Telephone consultations
- Online consultations
- Triage calls
- On call duties
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions

- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate
- Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICE
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Check, read and interpret pathological results for patients
- Ensure appropriate follow up of patients
- Record clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standards
- Ensure that practice clinical database is updated promptly and accurately with information relating to patient records, as required for clinical accuracy and for practice recording requirements under QOF and enhanced services.
- Appropriate use of read codes.
- Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions avoiding hand-written prescriptions.
- Prescribe appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance)
- Work with and provide support for other members of the primary health care team.
Essential
- Applicants must have current UK professional GMC registration.

- The applicant must be a qualified GP with full GMC registration licence to practice, on a performers list and have a UK drivers licence
- This position is ARRS .
- Experience with using EMIS
- Experience of NHS general practice
- Experience of using electronic clinical patient records
- Experience of medicines management
- Experience of CCG initiatives
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit
- Experience of working in a primary care environment

- Understanding of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including General Practice, the GMS contract, Clinical Governance, Network Contract DES, and Quality & Outcomes Framework Knowledge of the health needs of the surgery population Eligibility for minor surgery, CHS, obstetrics, family planning accreditation
