Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant
£25.61k per annumFull-time
Required from 2 November 2026 to work 6.25 hours per week 11.45am-1pm during term time. The Headteacher and Governors of Ropery Walk Primary School wish to appoint a committed, hardworking, well organised person with a genuine interest in children to the position of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant. We are seeking a mid-day supervisor to join our lunch time team and contribute positively to the welfare and play of the children in our school. The successful candidate will:
• Be caring, hardworking and reliable.
• Have the ability to work as part of a team.
• Supervise meals and encourage children to use cutlery properly.
• Supervise the washing of hands of pupils.
• Supervise entry/exit into/from the dining hall by the pupils.
• Clear up all spillages during mealtime promptly.
• Assist in wiping up tables, chairs when necessary at end of the meal..
• Initiate games and activities where appropriate, whilst maintaining broad supervision.
• Supervise children in classrooms during inclement weather.
• Perform basic first aid for minor incidents/accidents.
• Maintain accurate and relevant incident/accident records.
• Follow the school’s behaviour policy; ensure pupils maintain high standards of behaviour, reporting any cases of misbehaviour, especially bullying, as appropriate.
• To attend any training courses relevant to the post, ensuring continuing, personal and professional development.
• Ability to present oneself as a role model to pupils in speech, dress, behaviour and attitude. The above duties and responsibilities are not an exhaustive definition of all tasks associated with the post. These duties may vary from time to time without materially affecting the level or responsibility or character of the post and this is reflected in the grading. This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
