Discover What Highcrest Can Offer You
How does working nine days but being paid for ten sound?
Since September 2024, all permanent staff at Highcrest have benefitted from a 9-day working fortnight . The concept is simple: you attend work for nine days and get paid for ten. The tenth day is your dedicated ‘Reset Day’ — time away from school to catch up on your to-do list, recharge, and invest in your well-being. This is in addition to your statutory PPA time.
Staff feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Colleagues return from their reset day feeling more energised, less overwhelmed, and better able to manage the demands of school life. Many also enjoy the extra flexibility, reduced travel time, and cost savings.
Could this be the change you’ve been looking for?
On top of this, we offer:
Exceptional investment in your professional development
The potential for on-site accommodation if you're relocating
First-class facilities, including a well-equipped gym, excellent canteen, and a welcoming coffee shop
Does Highcrest sound like the school for you?
If you're driven by the satisfaction of transforming lives and helping young people overcome barriers to success, we’d love to hear from you.
Take your career to the next level
At Highcrest, we do whatever it takes to break down barriers and unlock potential. As the only all-ability academy in Buckinghamshire, we are proud to provide an outstanding education for every student — from high academic achievers to those with special educational needs.
Our innovative, inclusive curriculum reflects the diversity of our school community and is purposefully designed to challenge, support, and inspire every learner.
If you're ready to grow as an educator and make a real difference, this is your opportunity to take your career to the next level — and be part of something truly transformational.
Explore the opportunity
You will join our school at an exciting time, as we continue to deliver ambitious strategic developments to meet the growing needs of our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This unique role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to take on a pivotal leadership position within our Inclusion Team, while also contributing to our thriving Humanities Department as a classroom teacher.
The successful candidate will be supported through line management from both the Head of Humanities and an Assistant Headteacher who is a qualified SENDCo, ensuring robust guidance and professional support as you transition into the role.
Extensive experience of SEND, together with a passion for securing the highest quality provision for all learners, is essential. This commitment aligns with our inclusive ethos and our determination to achieve the very best outcomes for every student. The SEND Department sits within our wider Inclusion and Wellbeing Team, which is dedicated to delivering exceptional pastoral care and support. We are proud to be recognised as an Inclusion Quality Mark Flagship School.
You will have a professional and collaborative approach when working with all stakeholders, alongside a naturally inquisitive mindset and a strong commitment to safeguarding. In addition, you will be able to think strategically and respond effectively to challenges, demonstrating excellent organisational and problem-solving skills while remaining adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Your clear communication style, positive outlook and proactive approach will enable you to be an outstanding role model and mentor for both students and staff.
The Humanities Department has experienced significant growth in recent years and now offers History, Geography and Religious Studies at both GCSE and A Level, alongside Law and Politics in Key Stage 5. You will join a team of dedicated subject specialists who share a strong moral purpose and commitment to excellence. Together, we challenge and inspire our students to step beyond their comfort zones and achieve their full potential within a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment. We firmly believe that students should not only learn about the Humanities, but experience them through an engaging, enriching and challenging curriculum.
