Further details about the role We are seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide personalised support for a pupil with autism. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, family andexternal professionals to support the pupil’s communication, emotional wellbeing,independence and engagement in school life. We are looking for someone who understands that every child learns differently and that progress can take many forms. For this pupil, success may initially be seen throughincreased engagement, communication, emotional regulation, confidence, relationships and independence, as well as academic learning. Experience of supporting children with autism or other additional needs would be anadvantage; however, we welcome applications from candidates who have a genuine interest in supporting children with SEND and who are willing to develop their knowledge and skills through training and support.
