Job description
At Inspire, we believe everyone deserves to live a healthy, meaningful life filled with purpose, dignity and connection. We are looking for compassionate and reliable Relief Support Workers to join our Intellectual Disability and Autism Services (IDAS) relief pool. In this role, you will provide practical care, emotional support and day-to-day assistance to people with learning disabilities, autism and complex support needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
- Display compassion and sensitivity to the people who use our services’ and next of kin needs.
- Contribute towards a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Support the people who use our services to manage their physical health, mental health and well-being through the development and implementation of an individual support plan.
- Identifies problems and issues and work with the people who use our services to provide the most appropriate solutions to promote well-being for all.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience of supporting an individual with household tasks and/or providing emotional support.
- Knowledge and understanding of intellectual disability issues.
Further Information
To be willing to work various shifts, which may include days, nights, evenings and weekends.
