IDAM Engineer (IT)

IDAM Engineer We are seeking an experienced Identity & Access Management (IDAM) Engineer to provide L2/L3 support for a large-scale, highly customised Identity and Access Management environment. The successful candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) and will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing critical identity management services across the organisation. The environment contains significant customisation, bespoke workflows, rule extensions, and integrations with multiple identity platforms, requiring an engineer capable of performing deep technical analysis and resolving complex incidents. The role will involve supporting integrations between Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), Active Directory, This is a senior L2/L3 support role requiring strong operational experience within complex enterprise IAM environments. This role operates within secure facilities in either Inverness or Manchester and requires participation in a on call 24x7 operational shift rota. Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 operational support for a highly customised Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) environment.
• Analyse, maintain, and troubleshoot complex MIM synchronisation, provisioning, and identity lifecycle management processes.

• Support integrations between MIM, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, BeyondTrust, and other enterprise applications.
• Perform root cause analysis for incidents, recurring issues, and service failures.
• Maintain and support custom MIM rule extensions, workflows, management agents

erience Identity & Access Management

• Extensive hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) within enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) principles.
• Proven experience supporting highly customised MIM implementations.

* Strong understanding of: o Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) processes o Identity Lifecycle Management Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) o MIM Portal o MIM Workflows * Experience supporting custom MIM rule extensions and bespoke workflows. Identity Platforms Strong practical experience with:

• Active Directory
• Microsoft Entra ID
• Okta
• BeyondTrust

Experience supporting:

• Directory Synchronisation
• Identity Federation

Technical Skills

• Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
• Ability to review and troubleshoot C#/.NET code used in MIM customisations.

Desirable Skills

• Experience supporting Privileged Access Management (PAM) platforms.
• Knowledge of BeyondTrust PAM or Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM).
• Experience integrating MIM with cloud-based identity providers.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a hands-on senior IDAM engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Identity Manager and a strong understanding of enterprise identity ecosystems. They will be comfortable supporting a heavily customised environment, investigating complex identity and access issues, and working across multiple integrated technologies including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and BeyondTrust. The successful candidate will have the technical depth to operate at L2/L3 level, perform root cause analysis, support bespoke MIM customisations, and work closely with operational and engineering teams to ensure the stability, security, and integrity of critical identity services.
