Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Vehicle Allowance & Package

The Company

Our client is an established construction contractor delivering high-quality refurbishment, retrofit and residential projects across the Midlands.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a major refurbishment and conversion project in Staffordshire.

The Project

• The project involves the conversion of an existing industrial facility into 28 high-quality residential apartments.
• The project is valued at approximately £2 million and has an anticipated programme duration of 12 months.
• This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a background in residential refurbishment, apartment developments or complex retrofit projects to take ownership of a project from start through to completion.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, to the required quality standards, on programme and within budget.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day construction activities on site
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring all site works in line with the construction programme
• Managing subcontractors and ensuring all works are completed to the required standards
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
• Carrying out regular site inspections, toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Monitoring project progress and identifying potential delays or programme risks
• Coordinating the delivery of materials, plant and equipment
• Managing quality control and ensuring works are completed in line with project specifications
• Working closely with the Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor, design team and client representatives.
• Managing site documentation, including site diaries, progress reports and health and safety records.
• Overseeing snagging and ensuring the project is completed to a high standard.
• Maintaining positive working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team.

The Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Site Manager within the construction industry.
• Experience delivering residential developments, apartment schemes or residential refurbishment projects
• Previous experience working on refurbishment, fit-out, conversion or retrofit projects
• Experience managing multiple subcontract packages and coordinating site activities
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, health and safety requirements and quality control
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
• The ability to manage project programmes and work effectively within tight deadlines
• A proactive and hands-on approach to site management
