About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Forklift Engineer to join a well-established and growing family-run material handling business.
The company is looking for a good, reliable engineer with solid experience who wants to join a friendly team and build a long-term career within the business.
There are opportunities for Mobile Forklift Engineers across the Leicester, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Work on electric, diesel and LPG equipment.
- Carry out planned servicing and maintenance.
- Complete service reports and paperwork.
- Maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Keep tools, vehicles and equipment clean and well maintained.
- Work safely and follow company procedures.
Workshop Engineer
Based at the company's North Nottinghamshire / Mansfield-area workshop .
The work is mainly planned and booked in advance, with engineers carrying out servicing, repairs and fault-finding on a range of forklift equipment.
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm with a one-hour break.
Mobile Engineer
Covering customers across the Leicester, Nottingham, Peterborough and wider Midlands areas .
The majority of work is planned and pre-booked, with occasional breakdowns when required.
Mobile engineers receive 30 minutes of paid travel time each day , with additional standby and overtime opportunities available.
About You
- Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Material Handling Engineer or similar.
- Good mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge.
- Experience with electric, diesel and LPG equipment.
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and professional approach to work.
- Takes pride in producing good-quality work.
Engineers from heavy plant, agricultural machinery, powered access, HGV or automotive backgrounds may also be considered where they have relevant transferable experience.

- £38,000-£40,000 basic salary , depending on experience.
