Machine Operative

Job description

Our client is seeking a Machine Operative to join their growing team, based in Portadown.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup and Preparation:
• Prepare moulds and equipment for production according to specifications.
• Load raw materials, such as plastic resins and additives, into the moulds.
• Set up machine parameters, including temperature, rotation speed, and cycle time, based on production requirements.
• Machine Operation:
• Operate rotational moulding machines to produce plastic products
• Monitor machine operation to ensure that the moulding process runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Adjust machine settings as necessary to optimise production and maintain product quality.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect finished products for defects, such as air bubbles, warping, or incomplete filling.
• Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent defects from recurring.
• Cleaning and Maintenance:
• Clean moulds, equipment, and work areas regularly to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene standards.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on rotational moulding machines, such as lubrication and calibration.
• Replace worn-out or damaged machine parts as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
• Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, while operating machinery.
• Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor or safety officer
