Employer Engagement Officer

RE:GEN Academy is an employer-led skills provider, wholly owned by RE:GEN Group.

RE:GEN Group are main contractors, delivering refurbishment, retrofit and new build works to social housing providers across the North of England, directly supporting the decarbonisation of homes and the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Here at the Academy, we create sustainable employment opportunities for those living in and connected to the communities that RE:GEN regenerate.

We do this in a number of ways:

  • Through government funded initiatives (Adult Skills Fund / Skills Bootcamps)

  • Community-led projects with RE:GEN Group social housing clients

  • Bespoke programmes designed to support industry needs

We completed last year’s contract with a 74% progression into employment outcome and are on track to achieve the same this year. We are also currently within scope for Ofsted.

Due to continued growth, we’re looking to connect with individuals who are passionate about supporting people into employment from disadvantaged groups by breaking down barriers and helping reduce deprivation across the communities we regenerate.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of other areas including construction and green skills training, working closely with our qualified trainers to support learners into sustainable careers.
Role Summary

As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with employers across RE:GEN Group and our supply chain. You'll support businesses to identify their workforce and training needs, helping connect them with RE:GEN Academy to develop and deliver government funded programmes to support them hiring new entrants.

Working closely with the wider team, you'll engage employers to understand immediate recruitment requirements, carry out Training Needs Analyses, and coordinate suitable training solutions that support project delivery and long-term workforce development.

Through the Training Needs Analyses you will identify areas for support and offer advice and guidance on CITB grants / apprenticeship Levy and warm referrals to colleges / other training providers to support the learner journey and their business growth.

You'll act as the first point of contact for employer partners, ensuring they receive a high-quality service throughout their engagement with the Skills Academy.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about developing construction careers and supporting employers to build a skilled workforce.

You will:

  • Have experience in employer engagement, recruitment, business development or training.

  • Have a passion for supporting individuals, sometimes with multiple barriers, into sustainable employment.

  • Be confident building relationships with employers and external partners.

  • Understand (or be willing to learn) the construction sector and its workforce challenges.

  • Be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple employer relationships.

  • Have excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Be comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Share our commitment to inclusion, social mobility and community impact.

  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel across the region.

Desirable

  • Experience of funded training programmes or apprenticeships.

  • Knowledge of CITB grants or the Apprenticeship Levy.

  • Experience working with contractors, supply chains or training providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers across our supply chain and external partners.

  • Conduct employer meetings and Training Needs Analyses to identify skills and recruitment requirements.

  • Provide information, advice and guidance to employers looking to hire new entrants.

  • Supporting and encourage employers to help break down individual barriers for those across our communities.

  • Promote our funded training opportunities and onboard employer partners.

  • Support employers to recruit new entrants and upskill existing employees.

  • Work collaboratively with internal delivery teams to coordinate training solution that support your employer’s needs.

  • Maintain accurate employer records, activity and outcomes.

  • Attend employer events, networking opportunities and project meetings.

  • Provide excellent customer service from initial engagement through to aftercare.

  • Support reporting against contractual KPIs and employer engagement targets.

  • Develop knowledge of construction skills funding, including CITB grants and Apprenticeship Levy opportunities.

Success Measures

  • Learner progression into employment.

  • Number of employers actively working with the Academy.

  • Employer satisfaction and repeat engagement.

  • Accurate records and reporting.

  • Positive contribution to project social value outcomes.
