Senior IT Workstream Lead
- Lead major and complex IT delivery across programmes and multiple projects
- Influence senior stakeholders and guide multidisciplinary delivery teams
- Hybrid 80% homeworking and 20% from Tiddington Head Office
About the role
At NFU Mutual, you’ll lead and plan IT workstream activity for a major or complex programme of change, or across multiple projects. You’ll provide clear ownership of IT deliverables and help ensure solutions meet business requirements and IT service standards.
Working with project managers, IT service owners, release managers, delivery teams, suppliers and stakeholders across the business, you’ll define milestones and keep delivery on track. You’ll manage dependencies, costs, quality and timescales in line with delivery governance and the software development lifecycle.
You’ll build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, support timely decisions and escalate issues when needed. You’ll also lead and motivate multidisciplinary delivery teams, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching and development support to team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. As a people leader, you'll encourage continuous improvement, support performance and capability development, and help create an inclusive environment where colleagues can thrive.
Alongside people leadership responsibilities, you'll manage risks, coordinate third-party services, oversee resource planning and maintain clear reporting so that agreed outcomes are delivered successfully and in line with business objectives.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.
About you
You’re a resilient and trusted delivery leader who communicates clearly, builds collaborative relationships and brings sound judgement to complex decisions. You manage workstreams with confidence, delegate effectively and use critical thinking to solve problems while keeping people focused on shared outcomes.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of leading/driving major/complex IT delivery projects and teams and track record of successful IT project delivery in an IT Service environment.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and developing multidisciplinary teams through effective coaching, performance management and talent development, creating a collaborative culture that delivers excellent outcomes.
- Experience of working with IT 3rd party service providers, ideally within a multivendor environment.
- Experience of establishing effective relationships with and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Working knowledge and a strong understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle. Ideally, with experience of leading Agile or other iterative based software development lifecycles.
- A good understanding of IT Service and Service Ownership
- Experience of the Project Management framework and methodologies.
- Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management.
- Proven experience of establishing effective relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in a Financial Services environment (desirable)
