Construction Manager - Cambridge
PSR Solutions are working with a leading UK main contractor to recruit an experienced Construction Manager for a major commercial development in Cambridge.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a flagship project involving the construction and fit-out of a high-profile office development, delivering premium workspace, extensive amenities and ambitious sustainability targets.
The successful Construction Manager will take ownership of CAT A floor delivery, overseeing key packages including raised access floors, ceilings, landlord finishes, core services distribution, life safety systems and MEP installations. Working closely with project, design and M&E teams, you will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
This role would suit a Construction Manager with experience delivering large-scale commercial projects for a main contractor, who has a strong understanding of programme management, subcontractor coordination and the sequencing of internal fit-out works.
Construction Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the safe delivery of CAT A floor works across the project.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with programme and quality requirements.
- Oversee key packages including raised access floors, ceilings, MEP installations, life safety systems and landlord finishes.
- Plan and sequence works to maximise productivity and maintain programme milestones.
- Monitor site progress and provide regular updates to the project leadership team.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Coordinate closely with MEP, structural and design teams to ensure seamless integration of services and finishes.
- Identify potential risks and site challenges, implementing solutions to minimise delays.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout project delivery.
- Support project reporting, site logistics and construction planning activities.
Construction Manager Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Construction Manager on large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Experience delivering CAT A fit-out packages within major developments.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site operations and programme management.
- Previous experience working for a main contractor on projects of significant size and complexity.
- Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Construction-related qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent).
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification.
- Professional membership or working towards membership of a recognised industry body would be advantageous.
