Social Work Manager - Children's Social Care
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay Rate: PAYE £28.72 per hour / Umbrella £36.61 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: 37 Hours per Week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Contract Duration: June 2026 - September 2026 Social Work Manager - Children's Social Care Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Work Manager to join a Children's Social Care service in Middlesbrough on a temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Social Work Manager to provide leadership, oversight, and operational management within a busy Children's Social Care team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality safeguarding practice, service delivery, and positive outcomes for children, young people, and families. Key Responsibilities - Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and social care professionals within Children's Services.
- Provide professional supervision, performance management, and development support to staff.
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, safeguarding procedures, and Children's Social Care legislation.
- Monitor casework quality and ensure timely assessments, care planning, and interventions.
- Support service improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving performance targets.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including education, health, police, and other safeguarding professionals.
- Manage complex cases and provide guidance on high-risk safeguarding matters.
- Promote best practice and ensure services are child-centred and outcome-focused.
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational decision-making within the service. Applicant Requirements - Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience within Children's Social Care.
- Previous experience in a Team Manager, Social Work Manager, Practice Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, looked after children, and statutory social work practice.
- Experience supervising and supporting social work teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
