Commissioning Activity Coordinator - Adult Social Care

£26.4k - £27.25k per annum
Full-time
Role: Commissioning Activity Coordinator - Adult Social Care
Salary: Grade D £26,403 - £27,254 a year
Location: Council House
Hours:37 hours a week
Closing Date: 11/08/2026
Contract Type: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a brand-new team in Derby City Council's People Services Directorate, supporting the Council's Adult Social Care (ASC) Services on their continuous improvement journey. Situated within the Adults Commissioning, Integration, and Market Development service area, this new team of skilled business support colleagues will work across five ASC service areas spanning the Council's diverse social work, safeguarding and therapy teams, supporting a range of administrative activities in collaboration with colleagues and departments internally and externally to the organisation.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the role will also include working within the Derby Grouped School PFI (Private Finance Initiative) Expiry programme to support the Government's recommended expiry process over the next five years. You will bring transferrable skills to provide dedicated project, administrative and coordinated support to help ensure delivery of the PFI exit programme that spans five City schools and one Children's Centre.

As one of the team's Activity Coordinators, you will be responsible for tasks including:

• Maintaining the Council's ASC case management system records relating to people that we support, including but not limited to, assessment details, health funding content, and contractual and provider information related to the provision of care.
• People management support tasks including publication and dissemination of resources and maintenance of shared directories and sources of information; scheduling and managing meetings; being responsible for Duty team rotas; support with HR activities.
• Issuing information related to jointly funded (with the NHS) placements and packages of care to system partners, including the Integrated Care Board (ICB), and facilitating financial data related to the cost of care.
• Managing ASC Review waiting lists on behalf of social work teams, reviewing team 'trays' of allocated information in the case management system; and liaising with people at all levels, both internally and externally, with alerts and messages, information and reports as required.
• Support the Schools Organisation and Provision team through similar administration tasks to help navigate the PFI Expiry programme over the next five years, bringing equivalent skills and capacity to help drive forward project, administrative and coordinated support to ensure Derby fulfills the Government's recommendations to ensure a smooth transition of education, learning and support to young people between the Council and Multi Academy Trusts.

You will have excellent communication and influencing skills to build and nurture positive relationships and partnerships with a wide range of people, independently and as part of a team, and be both resilient and flexible to adapt to changing priorities, goals and circumstances in this dynamic work environment. The post-holder is expected to be a pro-active, highly numerate individual with good data skills and knowledge of key applications such as MS Excel to deliver insights.
Experience of working in a care and education or local government environment and/ or project or programme support would be an advantage.

The Council's People Services directorate is responsible for the delivery of public health, adult social care, children and young people and safeguarding services. We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the local population and make sure that care is of a high quality, person-centered and targeted to those in most need. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team.

The role will be based primarily in Derby City Council House with flexibility for home working. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Hayley Potts, View phone number on energyjobsearch.com or View email address on energyjobsearch.com for an informal discussion and more details.
