We are seeking several  ambitious and driven Data Centre Engineering Shift Managers to join our growing Data Centre Operations team on a newly built state of the art facility. The Position
As an Data Centre  Engineering Shift Manager , you’ll be the technical and operational leader on site, driving performance, reliability, and safety across your shift. You’ll oversee all maintenance activities, ensure critical systems up time, and lead a high-performing team of engineers to deliver exceptional standards in a 24/7 live environment.
This role is all about  leadership, accountability, and innovation — keeping critical infrastructure running while mentoring the next generation of data centre engineers.
Roles & Responsibilities
·      Lead and inspire a team of shift engineers, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
·      Oversee all  planned and reactive maintenance activities across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
·      Act as an  Authorised Person (HV) , maintaining a safe system of work and ensuring all compliance documentation is in place.
·      Respond rapidly and effectively to  real-time incidents and alarms , ensuring minimal downtime and clear communication.
·      Manage  Permit to Work systems , review RAMS, and uphold the highest safety and operational standards.
·      Drive continuous improvement across the site — optimising performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
·      Mentor and develop your team, delivering technical training, toolbox talks, and professional growth opportunities.
·      Represent the operations team with professionalism and technical authority in all client and vendor interactions.
Skills & Experience
·      Proven experience as an  Engineering Shift Manager or Supervisor within D ata centre or mission-critical operations .
·      Strong technical background with  High Voltage Authorisation .
·       NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)in electrical or mechanical engineering.
·      18th Edition Wiring Regulations and  Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
·      Demonstrable experience managing  real-time incidents and coordinating engineering teams under pressure.
·      A proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
·      Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
