KS1 Learning Mentor

£92 - £94 per day

Be part of those early school moments that really matter.

We’re partnering with a group of supportive primary schools in Bedminster who are looking for KS1 support staff to join their teams. These are schools where children come first, staff work closely together, and every adult in the classroom plays an important role.

You won’t just be an extra pair of hands, you’ll be someone pupils rely on. From building confidence in reading and writing to helping them settle into the school day, your presence will make a real difference.

Whether you’re after flexible days or something more consistent, we’ll work with you to find the right fit.

What your role could look like:

  • Supporting learning across Key Stage 1 classrooms
  • Working alongside teachers to keep lessons engaging and accessible
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support where needed
  • Helping children build confidence socially and academically
  • Creating a positive, friendly atmosphere in the classroom
  • Stepping in to support when schools need you most

The kind of person who thrives here:

  • Comfortable working with KS1 children
  • Patient, encouraging, and approachable
  • Someone who brings positive energy into the classroom
  • Happy to be flexible and support where needed
  • A good understanding of how young children learn

Why people enjoy working with Protocol Education:

  • Flexible working that fits around your life
  • Weekly pay, £92 to £94 per day
  • Local school placements, keeping things simple
  • A dedicated consultant who supports you properly
  • Easy booking system, no unnecessary hassle
  • £50 referral bonus when you recommend a teacher

What you can expect from the schools:

You’ll be welcomed into friendly, well-run environments where teamwork is strong and support staff are genuinely valued. These are places where you’ll feel included, supported, and able to grow in confidence from day one.

To get you started, we’ll need:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two proofs of address
  • A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including childcare where possible
  • An overseas police check if applicable

If you’re looking for a role where you can support young learners at such an important stage, we’d love to hear from you.

Quick one before you apply, are you Thrive trained? If not, we can help you get started with free training, it’s a great way to build confidence and stand out to schools.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
