Company Accountant (Part-time)

Part-Time Company Accountant (30 Hours Per Week)Leeds | £40,000 - £50,000 FTE (Dependent on Experience)

Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting for a Part-Time Company Accountant to join a successful and growing SME based in Leeds.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a hands-on role that will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function. This position would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys operating in a varied role and being actively involved in all aspects of the accounts process.

Key responsibilities of the Company Accountant will include:

• Managing the purchase ledger and accounts payable process
• Overseeing sales ledger and accounts receivable
• Bank reconciliations
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Cash flow forecasting and reporting
• Payroll preparation and liaison with external payroll providers
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Producing management information for the Managing Director
• Assisting with month-end processes and year-end preparation
• Supporting the wider business with finance-related queries

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience in a standalone or hands-on finance role within an SME environment
• Be comfortable managing a broad finance remit with minimal supervision
• Have strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
• Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders
• Be proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Be either Qualified by Experience (QBE), AAT qualified, or part/fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
