Ipsen seeks a Principal Scientist in Cell Line Development and Upstream Process Development for their Wrexham site. The role involves leading biologics manufacturing process development from candidate selection through commercialisation, providing technical expertise across multiple programmes, and mentoring junior scientists within cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead Cell Line Development and Upstream Process Development strategies across biologics programmes
- Provide scientific leadership for CMC projects from early development through commercialisation
- Act as subject matter expert for technical decision-making on CLD and USP activities
- Drive process innovation and continuous improvement for productivity, robustness and quality
- Represent upstream process development within multidisciplinary CMC teams and external partnerships
Requirements
- Significant pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience in biologics development
- Deep expertise in Cell Line Development and/or Upstream Process Development
- Strong experience with CHO cell lines and mammalian cell culture processes
- Proven ability to lead CMC development activities across product lifecycle
- Experience managing and collaborating with Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisations
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management capabilities
- PhD in relevant scientific discipline or equivalent industry experience (desirable)
