Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Optometrist to join our dynamic team in Swindon, with occasional coverage required at our Bath clinic. In this role, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of eye care professionals, including ophthalmologists, to provide exceptional clinical care to our patients. You will be involved in performing pre- and post-operative consultations for refractive and cataract surgery patients, as well as delivering comprehensive eye examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre- and Post-Operative Consultations: Provide consultations for patients undergoing refractive and cataract surgery, ensuring they are informed and well-prepared for their procedures.
Clinical Support to Ophthalmologists: Assist ophthalmologists in the clinic, supporting them with patient care during procedures and consultations.
Eye Examinations: Conduct both essential and advanced eye examinations for a diverse range of patients, ensuring accurate diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
Patient Education: Provide patients with clear explanations about their eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with regulatory requirements and clinic standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with other eye care professionals to deliver high-quality care and improve patient outcomes.
Team Development:
Collaboration with Experts: Work alongside ophthalmologists and other optometrists, sharing expertise and best practices to ensure the best patient outcomes.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and students, helping them develop their clinical skills and knowledge.
Professional Development: Contribute to a positive, learning-focused team environment, where continuous professional development is encouraged and supported.
About You:
The ideal candidate will:
Be a fully qualified Optometrist, registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
Have experience in performing comprehensive eye examinations, including pre- and post-operative care for refractive and cataract surgery patients.
Have a passion for patient care and an interest in advancing your skills in a dynamic clinical setting.
Be committed to continuing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry.
Be able to work independently, yet enjoy being part of a collaborative team.
Have excellent communication skills, ensuring patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their care.
