Job summary
Due to the expansion of our Wellbeing Emotional Support Teams in Schools (WEST), we are recruiting an Operational Lead for our new Hereford team. Our service provides evidence-based early interventions for children and young people aged 5-18 with mild to moderate mental health needs across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. As Operational Lead, you will join a supportive leadership team committed to shared learning, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture, with access to training and development. A key part of the role is overseeing quality and performance through effective line management and supervision. We are a Monday-Friday, 9-5 service and encourage flexible working. The role includes working across schools, community settings, and at home, so the ability to travel is essential. Main duties of the job

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic records
• Coordinate staff resources and support team planning
• Take part in training and promote integrated ways of working
• Lead or delegate mentorship and preceptorship
• Review performance, quality, and finance data regularly
• Chair and participate in key meetings
• Set, monitor, and evaluate standards, escalating concerns as needed
• Champion evidence-based practice and implement new developments
• Provide professional advice, teaching, and support to school staff
• Ensure high standards of governance, quality, and confidentiality
• Lead on effective communication of clinical developments
• Provide line management and caseload supervision

Job responsibilities

• Act as a professional role model, maintaining high standards at all times
• Take initiative and responsibility for the quality of your work and the service delivered
• Lead, coordinate, and develop an effective and efficient service for children and young people
• Provide daytoday leadership, support, and supervision to WEST staff, working closely with the Clinical Lead and Locality Services Manager
• Support safe and effective triage of referrals and ensure coordinated care across the pathway
• Deliver expert holistic assessments and evidencebased interventions for CYP and their carers
• Lead the team in implementing integrated MDT care plans, ensuring highquality, patientfocused care

Qualifications
Essential

• Registered Practitioner with current registration (i.e. Health / Social Care / Education professional)
• Evidence of relevant post graduate courses / Continual Professional Development maintained in portfolio

Desirable

• Master's Qualification or working towards
• Non-medical prescriber (V300)
• Leadership training/ qualification Practice Educator qualification

Experience
Essential

• Significant experience of working within community settings
• Experience of Leadership
• Experience of working in a multi- disciplinary team
• Experience implementing change in practice
• Experience of active engagement in audit and governance activities

Desirable

• Experience of developing new services
• Relevant experience at band 7

Knowledge
Essential

• High level of knowledge underpinning roles and responsibilities of the professional groups within an MHTiS
