Planning, Governance and Reporting Officer

£44.45k - £51.53k per annum
Full-time

The Integrated Risk and Intelligence Service (IRIS) is part of the Counter Fraud, Compliance and Debt Directorate (CFCD) and is a great place to work.

The IRIS community is diverse and made up of brilliant colleagues all passionate about the IRIS objective, paying the right person, the right amount at the right time.

IRIS has worked hard to create an environment for everyone, blended and multi-disciplinary teams made up of planners, deliverers, analysts, data and digital professionals, intelligence experts, and fraud and error specialists.

If you care about DWP, the work we do and those we serve, and want to ensure DWP pays the right person the right amount at the right time and enjoy working with a great team of creative, intuitive professionals, then IRIS could be the place for you.

The Planning, Governance and Reporting Team is a functional area that sits at the heart of the IRIS community. As a senior leader in a high-profile area the role requires extensive colleague and stakeholder engagements ensuring the IRIS delivery plan, reporting data and governance accurately describes and reflects the work underway, on the backlog, to do, and the value IRIS brings.

IRIS works across an extremely complex and sensitive landscape within Counter Fraud. Each team in IRIS have different, but complimentary approaches to planning and reporting and it’s this team’s accountability to bring and implement robust, proportionate and effective controls to be able to describe what IRIS has done, is doing, what it plans to do and the value it brings.

Role and Responsibilities

You will support the Planning, Governance and Reporting function and may have some supervisory responsibilities for junior team members.

As a Planning, Governance and Reporting Officer, you will contribute to the design, delivery, and upkeep of products that track IRIS demand, supply, and the benefits delivered and planned. Your work will help describe IRIS’ collective activities that support DWP in its Fraud and Error response.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive service delivery through effective planning
  • Report on IRIS value, including contributing to the development and maintenance of an IRIS Dashboard
  • Implement governance controls to ensure IRIS risk initiatives comply with security standards and that documentation is stored and reviewed as needed
  • Contribute to managing IRIS demand and workflow into the team
  • Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators and success measures
  • Assist in maintaining the IRIS ‘business case’, including monitoring benefits realisation and making this data visible and accessible

You will also:

  • Be a key contact for IRIS planning, governance, and reporting queries
  • Work as part of a team with a range of skills and experiences, helping to foster a collaborative and supportive environment
  • Be comfortable working in areas of uncertainty, seeking guidance where needed and recognising the importance of teamwork
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, sharing updates and contributing to discussions
  • Support and motivate team members, encouraging collective working and knowledge sharing
  • Design and deliver products including the IRIS Delivery Plan, Delivery Roadmap, Risk Log, and Delivery Dashboard
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across teams to ensure products are accurate, up-to-date, and co-created as needed
  • Show flexibility and adaptability, reprioritising and supporting the team to respond to changes in demand or direction
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop, contributing to the ongoing success and value of IRIS through effective planning, governance and reporting

Key Deliverables

  • Design and deliver the IRIS planning, governance and reporting agenda.
  • Collaborate closely with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders including, though not limited to CFCD and Policy to influence, sometimes persuade and negotiate future IRIS activities.
  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with others, amplifying IRIS value and ensuring all IRIS colleagues are pro-actively delivering outcomes.
  • Design, build and implement a strong set of IRIS performance measures including, value and benefits agreed with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Design and deliver regular planning reporting and governance show and tells, describing simply and accurately IRIS capability and service value.

Due to the geographically dispersed nature of this team, this role will require some travel and overnight stays.
