Delta Housing is a newly formed organisation created through the merger of CHP and Estuary Housing Association. Now the largest housing association in Essex, Delta manages over 17,000 homes and is focused on delivering high-quality services, investing in communities, and building more affordable homes.

This is a defining moment for the organisation. With increased scale and ambition, Delta is now moving beyond the merger into a new phase, modernising its operations and building a digitally enabled, future-focused housing provider.

This is a rare opportunity to join at a pivotal stage. As Director of IT and Data, you will play a critical role in shaping Delta’s digital future, leading the development of a modern, secure, and customer-focused technology and data environment that underpins the organisation’s transformation.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief People and Resources Officer and as a key member of the Executive Team, you will:

• Lead the development and delivery of Delta’s digital and IT strategy, ensuring technology enables operational excellence, customer outcomes, and long-term transformation.
• Oversee IT operations, infrastructure and systems integration, ensuring secure, resilient, and high-performing platforms across the organisation.
• Drive improvements in cyber security, data protection, and risk management, ensuring compliance with GDPR and best practice standards.
• Work closely with the Data and Insights function to align digital architecture, data governance, and analytics capability.
• Partner across the organisation to deliver joined-up, customer-focused digital solutions that improve efficiency, accessibility, and service quality.
• Shape and develop the IT and digital function, building a high-performing, collaborative, and future-ready team.
• Play a central role in Delta’s wider transformation agenda, working closely with the Transformation Team to modernise systems, processes, and ways of working.

Delta is at an early stage in its digital journey, with a mix of legacy and cloud systems and a clear opportunity to define a roadmap that delivers both quick wins and longer-term transformation.

About you

Reporting to the Chief People and Resources Officer and serving as a key member of the Executive Team, you will have:

• Proven experience operating at Director level, or ready to step into a Director role, within social housing or a similarly complex, regulated environment.
• Strong expertise across IT infrastructure, digital transformation, cyber security and data-led organisations.
• A track record of leading organisational change, modernising systems, and delivering measurable improvements in service and efficiency.
• The ability to operate strategically while also getting to grips with operational challenges and driving delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organisation and at Executive level.
• Experience in building and leading high-performing teams, including shaping structures and managing change in complex environments.
• A collaborative, business-partnering mindset, ensuring IT and data functions enable customer outcomes rather than operate in isolation.

You will combine strategic vision with pragmatism, able to define a clear direction while delivering early impact.
