The Role
We are excited to be advertising a community Paediatric Physiotherapy Band 6 position.
You will provide comprehensive, advanced and specialist assessment, treatment and management for children and young people presenting with highly complex clinical conditions, including developmental delay, movement disorders, disability and illness, where physiotherapeutic intervention and/or specialised equipment may improve function, participation and quality of life.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- This is a full-time (36) hour post, fixed-term post for 12 months.
- You will work these hours over Monday to Friday.
- You would be based at the Aranthrue Centre in Renfrew, but you will see children and young people in a variety of settings (homes, nursery, school (both mainstream and specialist provision) as well as clinics across Renfrewshire.
- Please note that a driving licence is essential for this post.
Key Responsibilities
Your caseload will have variety of developmental, neurological and MSK conditions and you will need to be competent in assessing a wide range of paediatric conditions based on sound theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often in situations where conflicting evidence is present.
You will be part of the rotas for our weekly Advice Line, twice-monthly triage and CPIPs clinics as well as monthly JACs (Joint Assessment Clinic). You will also be involved with our in-service training program, supervision and service development.
You would assist with supervision of students and rotational members of the team.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- Health Professions Council Registration
- Expected to be working towards masters level post graduate qualifications
- To be highly competent in assessing a wide range of paediatric conditions based on advanced theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often in situations where conflicting evidence is present
- Relevant Post Registration Experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of Paediatric conditions
- Advanced knowledge of normal childhood development
- Advanced knowledge of complex neuro-developmental conditions, paediatric syndromes, paediatric respiratory conditions
- Experience of service development both in design and application
