A supportive specialist provision in Truro is looking for a SEND Progression Support Worker to work with children and young people who need additional guidance to engage with learning, build independence and prepare for their next steps.

You'll support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and associated learning or communication difficulties .

Your Role Will Involve

• Developing supportive and professional relationships with pupils
• Providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support
• Helping young people access learning at a level appropriate to them
• Encouraging independence and personal responsibility
• Supporting pupils to develop confidence and resilience
• Helping young people recognise and manage their emotions
• Using positive strategies to support behaviour
• Encouraging communication and social development
• Supporting practical learning, enrichment and activities beyond the classroom
• Working closely with teachers and specialist colleagues to understand individual pupil needs
