About us The Beacon is a purpose-built home for eleven children. All children who live in our home have a disability and / or complex health or medical need. We ensure our employees are well trained in trauma and therapeutic support, enabling the children in our care to feel safe and to thrive, this is something we are really passionate about. Our aim is to create a nurturing home where we support them to reach their full potential. About You Previous experience within a care profession is desirable for this role, with a good understanding of trauma informed practice and child development. Our children can present with behaviours that challenge and it is important that you are compassionate, have excellent communication skills, with a calm professional demeanour. You will need to have intermediate IT skills, be able to adapt to different situations and have the motivation to provide the very best care for our children at all times. You will be joining a successful and experienced team, and we will provide you with the training and support required to develop into this role. You will be required to complete a Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma. Shift Pattern: Full time, permanent, you will have a good work/life balance with a rota split between different shifts, some may include sleep in shifts at the home. Rota’s are given in advance to ensure this balance is met.Qualities we seek include: · Caring and Playful Demeanour: Children are full of energy and love to explore and play. · Kindness and Compassion: Essential for creating a secure, nurturing environment. · Passion for welfare: An advocate for children’s well-being. · Boundary Settings: Establishing boundaries, gently but firmly. ·Qualifications and Skills: Basic IT skills and knowledge / experience of the caring profession, along with a willingness to obtain a QCF qualification in working with children.
