Graduate Quality Engineer

Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a leading Manufacturing company in their search for a Graduate Quality Engineer to work in their leading facility in Hortonwood .

For the successful Graduate Quality Engineer, our client is offering:

* Salary £27,500 - £31,500 DOE
* Days position 8:15am - 4:45pm - 40 hours per week

The role - Graduate Quality Engineer:

* Monitor PCB fabrication and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly workflows, applying statistical process control (SPC) to track yield rates.
* Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for soldering defects, delamination, and component misalignments.
* Oversee inspections such as Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-ray testing, and First Article Inspection (FAI).
* Ensure the manufacturing floor complies with quality standards like ISO 9001 and industry-standard electronics guidelines (e.g., IPC-A-610).
* Maintain quality management systems (QMS), generate technical reports, and update process instructions.
* PCB manufacturing, failure analysis, or hardware engineering.
* Ability to interpret Gerber files, schematics, and blueprint drawings.

What our client is looking for in a Graduate Quality Engineer;

Previous experience in similar role- ESSENTIAL
Engineering Degree qualified or working towards- DESIRABLE
Knowledge and understanding of IPC Standards: IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), IPC-J-STD-001 (Soldering) Quality Methodologies: Six Sigma, 8D Problem Solving, 5 Whys, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Knowledge and understanding of Inspection Equipment: AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), AXI (Automated X-ray Inspection), and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
