We currently have an opportunity for an experienced materials buyer to work for a highly successful residential building company based in central Liverpool.
Reporting directly into the Construction Director, this role is busy, varied and demands a strong, solid background as a materials buyer gained with a housebuilder or within construction.
Working within the commercial team, you will be responsible for the efforts and results of the buying division within the commercial department and overseeing day to day operations to ensure all duties are carried out.
Identifying, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers in the purchasing of materials and for projects requires in-depth understanding of the industry, build methods, sub-contractor/supplier materials and what they're used for.
Having the ability to be highly efficient, accurate and logical, by demonstrating, cost control, best value and negotiating skills to achieve corporate goals both project to project and as a whole for the department.
You should be a confident negotiator, able to agree rates, retrospective discounts, payment terms and preparing associated documentation for execution. A good understanding of contractual terminology and buying processes is important.
