Salary: £80,000–£100,000 per annum (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Butler/House Manager to run a large household in Belgravia. Reporting directly to the principals, you will oversee every aspect of the residence, ensuring that both daily family life and formal occasions are delivered with efficiency, professionalism and meticulous attention to detail. 

You will lead the household team, coordinate external suppliers and contractors, and act as the central point of communication across all domestic operations.

Duties:

Household Leadership

• Take full responsibility for the smooth day-to-day management of the London residence.

• Lead and support a team of domestic professionals, ensuring exceptional service standards throughout.

• Develop efficient household procedures and operational systems.

• Monitor the presentation and maintenance of the property to ensure it remains in impeccable condition.

• Coordinate specialist contractors, maintenance providers and household suppliers.

Team Management

• Supervise, mentor and organise all household employees.

• Prepare staff schedules and allocate daily responsibilities.

• Recruit temporary hospitality professionals for events when required.

• Foster excellent communication and teamwork across the household.

Hospitality & Formal Service

• Plan and oversee private dinners, receptions and family entertaining.

• Ensure every event is delivered to the highest hospitality standards.

• Coordinate staffing and event logistics.

• Personally provide, or oversee, formal butler and silver service during hosted occasions.

Personal & Lifestyle Support

• Manage family wardrobes, seasonal clothing rotation and garment care.

• Arrange tailoring, dry cleaning and specialist wardrobe maintenance.

• Collect luxury retail purchases and personal items.

• Assist with luggage preparation, packing and unpacking for travel.

Household Administration

• Coordinate calendars, appointments and household schedules.

• Arrange travel itineraries, restaurant reservations and lifestyle bookings.

• Maintain household inventories and supplies.

• Liaise closely with the kitchen regarding menus, dietary preferences and family requirements.

Presentation is a fundamental aspect of this position. During working hours, a traditional butler uniform will be worn unless alternative attire is requested for specific occasions. A consistently polished appearance and exemplary personal standards are expected at all times.
