About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plater to join a busy engineering and fabrication team in Middlesbrough. This role will involve a mixture of plating, fabrication, and pipe fitting duties , working on a variety of heavy engineering and industrial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for a long-term position with a well-established employer.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Plater
- Ability to tack with TIG to a high standard
- Experience carrying out basic pipe fitting and pipework assembly
- Able to read and interpret engineering, fabrication, and isometric drawings
- Experience working with carbon steel and stainless steel materials
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable with a positive attitude towards teamwork and safety
Duties
- Fabrication and plating work in line with engineering specifications
- Marking out, cutting, forming, and assembling steel plate components
- Tack with TIG and fitting components prior to final welding
- Assisting with the fabrication, fitting, and installation of pipework and associated components
- Measuring, preparing, and aligning pipe sections, flanges, and supports
- Working from technical drawings, plans, and fabrication sketches
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Supporting production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship
