TEAM MANAGER - FULL TIME - WASHINGTON, TYNE & WEAR
Who We Are:
Inspired by a shared love of fashion, sneakers and the surrounding culture, END. was founded in Newcastle upon Tyne back in 2005. Our first UK store brought together a curated mix of celebrated designers and emerging brands, many of which were previously hard to find outside of London. From day one, we've nurtured a community of like-minded individuals united by a love for this ever-evolving culture.
Today, END. serves over 2 million customers worldwide through a seamless blend of online and physical retail. Our industry-leading stores in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, London, and Milan reflect our commitment to innovation, influence, and inspiration. We offer a carefully curated selection of menswear, womenswear, sneakers, homeware, and lifestyle products to a global audience.
At the heart of END. is our customer and it's our people and culture that make the difference. With over 600 employees across our HQ, offices, and retail locations, our customer-first mindset continues to guide everything we do.
The Role:
Lead and develop a defined team within the END. Logistics function, ensuring operational performance is maximised to deliver a world-class customer experience while achieving key commercial objectives and business targets.
Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing working environment where colleagues feel safe, valued, and empowered to be themselves. Inspire, motivate, and develop team members, supporting their personal growth and career aspirations while ensuring alignment with company values, objectives, and performance expectations.
Stay informed of wider business developments and work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders across the logistics operation to ensure the successful alignment and delivery of operational and people-focused initiatives. Contribute to the identification, development, and implementation of effective solutions to emerging challenges, supporting continuous improvement and business success.
This position operates on a 3-week rotational schedule, consisting of one week of Early shifts (06:45 - 15:15), one week of Day shifts (08:00 - 16:30), and one week of Late shifts (13:15 - 21:15).
Here's a breakdown of what you'll be doing:
- Support the day-to-day management, organisation, and control of the Logistics Department, ensuring operational objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor and manage team performance, ensuring all colleagues consistently meet established productivity, quality, and service standards.
- Drive engagement and motivation within the team to achieve individual KPIs, departmental targets, and business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across all departments to maximise operational efficiency and support business success.
- Collaborate closely with Department Managers and fellow Team Managers, providing regular updates on team and individual performance while identifying development and training opportunities.
- Provide effective leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to team members, encouraging continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Promote and maintain exceptionally high standards of accuracy, quality, and attention to detail across all areas of responsibility.
- Manage employee relations matters in line with company policies and procedures, including performance management, disciplinary processes, attendance, conduct, and capability issues.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of 5S standards, fostering a safe, organised, and efficient working environment.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members and facilitate bi-annual Individual Performance Reviews (IPRs), ensuring clear objectives, feedback, and development plans are in place.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support the implementation of operational and people-focused initiatives to enhance team performance and customer outcomes.
Who we're looking for:
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the processes, procedures, and systems utilised across the team, with a clear appreciation of how these interconnect with other departments to deliver operational objectives and business outcomes.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities within departmental improvement projects, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring successful delivery against agreed objectives. Plan, prioritise, and monitor both individual and team activities to consistently meet deadlines and performance expectations.
- Possess a thorough understanding of team objectives and the wider departmental structure, recognising how effective collaboration across functions contributes to the achievement of organisational goals and service excellence.
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members to deliver high levels of performance and customer service. Responsibilities include setting clear objectives, providing coaching and development support, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Apply sound judgement and previous experience to resolve operational challenges, identifying opportunities to simplify processes and improve efficiency. Demonstrate the ability to evaluate situations not covered by standard operating procedures and make informed decisions that support business objectives and raise performance standards.
- Influence operational decisions through effective leadership and collaboration, maintaining joint accountability for the volume, quality, accuracy, and timeliness of team outputs. Recognise the wider impact of team performance on departmental and business success.
- Experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is desirable; full training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Prepare, analyse, and present daily operational performance figures within management meetings, providing clear insights and recommendations to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Positively impacts customer experience through the performance of the team.
- Sound communication and diplomacy skills to enable the exchange of complex information. Able to exchange ideas and information effectively in a clear, concise and straightforward way. Requires a high degree of tact and diplomacy when dealing with others and handling sensitive issues.
