Ready to make your mark on a project that will power the future?
Want to be at the forefront of the UK's largest electricity network upgrade?
Then come and join Laing O'Rourke
The Great GridUpgrade is the largest overhaul of the UK's electricity transmission network in generations. Led by National Grid, the programme involves upgrading and expanding the high-voltage electricity network across England and Wales to transport increasing amounts of renewable energy, improve energy security and help deliver the UK's transition to a low-carbon future.
The Creyke Beck to High Marnham (CGNC) project is a key part of this programme, creating a new high-voltage transmission route between East Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire to strengthen the network between the North of England and the Midlands and enable the connection of future offshore wind generation.
What is the role?
We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to lead the planning, management and delivery of ground investigation, archaeological and survey works during the preconstruction phase. You'll work closely with the Construction Manager, designers, National Grid and specialist subcontractors to safely deliver enabling works and support the project's successful progression into construction.
What you'll bring
Location: Based at our Central Birmingham project office with regular travel across the CGNC route between Creyke Beck (Hull) and High Marnham (Nottinghamshire).
