A warm and supportive primary school in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

You will take responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons for pupils across Key Stage 1 , in line with the National Curriculum. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel supported, motivated, and encouraged to develop their confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Support pupils with additional needs, working closely with the SENCO and support staff.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Uphold the school's behaviour policy and promote positive behaviour for learning.
  • Fulfil all professional responsibilities in line with the Teachers' Standards.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
  • Has experience teaching in a UK primary school setting (placements accepted for ECTs).
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 Primary National Curriculum .
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Passionate, flexible, and committed to raising attainment.
  • Has the right to work in the UK and is available full-time.
  • Available to start ASAP and commit to a long-term role.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience teaching within KS1.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Strong subject knowledge in phonics, early reading, writing, and mathematics.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term KS1 teaching role in a welcoming Rochdale primary school , with a supportive team and a positive learning environment. The position is full-time, working 8:00am-4:00pm , with the opportunity to continue until the end of the academic year.
