Role Title: Commissioning Manager Business Unit: Asset Intelligence Location: Thames Valley Area - Site Based Role Overview: An opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Manager to support Galliford Try Asset Intelligence on a Thames Water Security Upgrade site. The role will lead and coordinate commissioning, Pre-SAT, SAT, migration, defect management and handover activities associated with the site security upgrade works. The Commissioning Manager will work closely with Thames Water, ESS supply chain partners, site teams and the wider GTAI project team to ensure systems are tested, evidenced, accepted and handed over effectively. What you will be doing:
- Attend and manage initial site surveys for de-risking, costing and technical review purposes.
- Coordinate site surveys involving electronic security, physical security, ecological, design, commissioning and supply chain stakeholders as required.
- Undertake regular site visits to monitor supply chain progress, installation quality, commissioning readiness and blockers affecting the works.
- Lead or attend weekly commissioning meetings with Thames Water, and relevant supply chain partners.
- Coordinate weekly Pre-SAT, SAT and migration meetings with Thames Water, ESS subcontractors and the project team.
- Attend network and communications meetings with Thames Water OT stakeholders and other relevant parties where required.
- Attend design and progress meetings with internal teams to maintain visibility of technical, quality and programme matters.
- Plan and arrange Pre-SAT, SAT and migration visits, aligning activities to the current programme and client expectations.
- Provide site management support during Pre-SAT, SAT and migration visits, ensuring activities are properly planned, briefed and controlled.
- Witness full site pre-testing and commissioning with the supply chain before client visits, ensuring systems operate correctly and are resilient before Pre-SAT or SAT.
- Compile, manage and monitor internal defect lists for the site and coordinate closeout of supply chain defects.
- Review and approve RAMS for commissioning, pre-testing, SAT, migration and related site activities.
- Coordinate with the supply chain SAMM pack producer to compile photographic evidence and completion information.
- Review and approve SAMM packs and associated contents prior to handover or client submission.
- Monitor new asset labelling installed on site and collate required asset information and photographic evidence.
- Create or coordinate bespoke site user and training documentation prior to SAT or handover.
- Provide regular updates to the wider GTAI team on commissioning progress, blockers, defects, site readiness and key workstream issues.
- Maintain effective liaison with Thames Water site managers, local operatives and operational stakeholders.
- Provide crossover support to electrical APs, Site Managers and the wider site team where commissioning, testing or migration input is required.
- Experience managing commissioning, testing, migration, system integration or handover activities on construction, infrastructure, water, security, MEP, controls or communications projects.
- Strong understanding of Pre-SAT, SAT, migration planning, witness testing, commissioning evidence, defect management and handover documentation.
- Able to coordinate multiple stakeholders including Thames Water, ESS subcontractors, supply chain partners, designers and the GTAI project team.
- Good technical understanding of electronic security systems, communications infrastructure, networks, assets, testing and operational readiness.
- Confident reviewing RAMS, test procedures, SAMM packs, evidence packs, asset records and user training documentation.
- Strong organisation, communication and reporting skills, with the ability to highlight blockers and drive actions to closeout.
- Able to work effectively on live operational sites and coordinate activities around access, safety, operational restrictions and client expectations.
- Background in electronic security systems, electrical systems, communications, controls, commissioning or systems integration.
- Experience with CCTV, access control, intruder detection, PIDS, fibre, copper, networks, panels or integrated security platforms.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- CSCS or ECS card.
- First Aid at Work.
- EUSR Water Hygiene.
- Experience working with Thames Water operational water sites, SEMD, CNI, MOD or secure infrastructure environments.
- Experience preparing or reviewing SAMM packs, asset evidence, user training documents and handover records would be beneficial.
