A large academy in Braintree is looking for a History Teacher to cover a maternity absence from January 2027. This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering an ambitious History curriculum.

The Role

• Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Deliver well-structured lessons covering British, European and wider world history.

• Prepare GCSE students for examinations.

• Develop students' source analysis, interpretation and essay-writing skills.

• Contribute to departmental assessment and planning.

The Candidate

• Strong History subject knowledge with QTS or equivalent.

• Experience teaching GCSE History.

• Able to establish clear expectations in the classroom.

• Strong planning and assessment skills.

• ECTs with suitable experience may be considered.
