Science Technician | Outstanding Secondary School | Haringey

A well-established Outstanding Secondary School in Haringey is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join its busy and supportive Science Department from October 2026.

You will be an important part of the department, helping teachers deliver practical Science lessons safely and effectively while ensuring laboratories, equipment and resources are maintained to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing practical equipment and materials for lessons

• Supporting Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals

• Setting up experiments and demonstrations

• Preparing and safely handling chemicals and other resources

• Maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities

• Checking stock and arranging replenishment of consumables

• Keeping laboratories clean, organised and ready for teaching

• Following COSHH and wider school health and safety procedures

• Assisting teachers and students during practical activities

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is methodical, proactive and hands-on, with a genuine interest in Science. Previous experience in a school Science Department or laboratory environment would be beneficial.

You will need excellent organisational skills, good attention to detail and the ability to manage several practical requirements across a busy school day. A relevant Science qualification or laboratory experience would be advantageous.
