Job Title: Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry
Grade: Consultant
Location: Aberdeen, Scotland
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate: Competitive – to be discussed upon application

We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry to work full-time for our NHS client based in Aberdeen, Scotland. This vacancy is available on a locum basis, with an immediate start for a short-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments. You will evaluate adults to understand their mental health challenges, considering their personal history and symptoms. Based on these assessments, you will formulate individualised treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs and goals.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with various healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Your role will also involve overseeing therapeutic interventions, including medication management and crisis interventions.

You will be responsible for regularly monitoring and evaluating the progress of individuals, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimise care. Additionally, you will contribute to risk assessments and management strategies, ensuring the safety and well-being of those in your care. This role requires both clinical expertise and a compassionate approach.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Section 12 approval
  • Specialist Register (CCT)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
