The post holder will:
- To provide specialist nursing support ensuring the quality of care provision to adults who have Haemoglobinopathy disorders using unit protocols and trust policies and guidelines.
- To work with the multi professional team to provide patient focused Haemoglobinopathy services, and to initiate different forms of treatment for adults and their families in a variety of settings.
- To work with the multi professional team in Haemoglobinopathy services.
- To create and provide specialist education, training and information to patients and families.
- To work with the multi professional team to monitor patient condition.
- To be responsible for nursing practice development.Will work alongside the Matron for Haemoglobinopathies to ensure the service is delivered in line with the service specification and within the remit of the allocated budget, which will vary depending on the numbers of patients treated.
- Recognise the importance of utilisation of resources is paramount and ensure maximal use of those available to enable the delivery of the highest standards of care.
- Be expected to focus on specialist education and training to all members of the multidisciplinary team within the service. Creating and facilitating training programmes.
- The post holder will be a key member of the team to ensure the implementation of the specialist service specification for Haemoglobinopathy.
