Teaching Assistant - Specialist Autism Provision

Protocol Education is working alongside a specialist primary provision in Sunderland seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex communication needs. The school provides a highly structured and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop independence, communication, and life skills. Responsibilities: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basisAssisting with personalised learning programmesSupporting sensory regulation and communication strategiesEncouraging independence throughout the school daySupporting social and emotional developmentAssisting with personal care where requiredWorking closely with teachers, therapists and families Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:00pmFriday: 8:30am – 3:30pm Requirements: Level 3 qualification desirableExperience supporting SEND pupils preferredPositive, patient and resilient attitudeEnhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply and pay for oneFull-time applicants only All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
