About the Role
Are you a passionate and resilient Behaviour Mentor looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting young people who may face barriers to education? We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or Alternative Provision (AP) setting, where you'll play a key role in helping pupils manage their behaviour, develop positive relationships, and re-engage with education.
Key Responsibilities
* Build positive, trusting, and supportive relationships with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, emotional difficulties, or additional needs.
* Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring and support to help pupils develop positive attitudes towards learning and personal development.
* Support pupils in managing their behaviour, emotions, and responses to challenging situations.
* Help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, self-esteem, and positive social skills.
* Implement strategies and interventions to support positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
* Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to identify and support pupils' individual needs.
* Support pupils to re-engage with education and develop the skills needed to make positive progress.
* Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in line with the school's behaviour policies and procedures.
* Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviour, following agreed behaviour management and safeguarding procedures.
* Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, interventions, and relevant incidents.
* Support the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils at all times. Requirements * A strong understanding of behaviour management and the ability to respond calmly and consistently to challenging situations.

* Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
