We feel that sport and physical activity can play an important role in the education and development of students and that sport should play a critical role in the student experience at Abertay. As a result, Abertay University has a wide range of opportunities to study and take part in sport and physical activity. The Abertay Sport Service offers competitive and recreational opportunities for all members of the Abertay community to take part in sport and physical activity.

The University now seeks to appoint a Sport Assistant.

Reporting to the Sport Development Officer, the position of Abertay Sport Assistant is primarily responsible for overseeing the gym area and will provide a first-rate service to gym users, first aid cover, deliver fitness advice and/or classes to gym members. Successful applicants will work with the Sport Development Officer to promote sport and physical activity to students, staff and the wider community. You will undertake project work to increase Abertay Sport membership and engagement in physical activity.

The role requires individuals to demonstrate effective communication, the ability to deliver a high-quality service and student experience, teamwork and motivation, initiative and problem solving, liaison and networking, planning and organising.
