People Coordinator

Temporary, Full-time

Why Greencore?

Following the combination with Bakkavor in January 2026, we’re one of the UK’s leading creators of convenience food, driven by a simple purpose: to make every day taste better.

As a vibrant and fast-moving business, we’re proud to employ over 28,000 talented colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots in the UK and the US. Together, we bring delicious food to life. Our products cover every meal occasion from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, with lunch and snacking in between. In FY25, our shared passion helped us achieve combined revenues of approximately £4bn.

Our extensive direct-to-store network allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food—both our own and products from trusted partners—to thousands of stores every day, ensuring consumers enjoy the very best whenever and wherever they shop.

We’re looking for a People Coordinator to join our team in Selby on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on, site-based role combining time-and-attendance and payroll administration with broader HR support and process improvement.

You’ll work 37.5 hours across five days out of seven. Flexibility is important because the working week will include regular weekend working and may include bank holidays to support payroll and management-reporting deadlines.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take day-to-day ownership of time-and-attendance processing for the site, helping to ensure colleagues are paid accurately and queries are resolved promptly. You’ll also support the local People team and help document and improve people processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing time-and-attendance information and payroll inputs through Kronos
  • Completing accurate manual checks, calculations and reconciliations
  • Investigating discrepancies, sickness calculations and attendance exceptions
  • Responding to colleague and manager queries relating to time, attendance and pay
  • Working with zone, shift and operational managers to obtain accurate information before payroll deadlines
  • Collating attendance and People KPI information for management reporting
  • Providing practical HR-administration support to the site People team
  • Turning processes that aren’t yet fully documented into clear, usable process maps and guidance
  • Identifying opportunities to make manual processes simpler, clearer and more effective

This is an exciting opportunity where you'll have a chance to improve how work is done and make a visible contribution to the site.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines strong administration and numerical accuracy with the confidence to work across a busy operational site.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience of time-and-attendance, payroll administration or workforce-management processes
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, retail operations, hospitality or another shift-based environment
  • Confidence working with detailed, pay-affecting information and resolving discrepancies to fixed deadlines
  • Experience of HR or People administration and a genuine interest in developing your HR career
  • Strong organisation, communication and follow-up skills
  • The confidence to work with and appropriately challenge busy operational managers
  • A practical, process-driven approach and an eye for improving how work is done
  • The flexibility to work five days out of seven, including regular weekends and occasional bank holidays when required

Experience of Kronos or a similar time-and-attendance system would be a significant advantage. A CIPD Level 3 qualification, or progress towards one, would also be beneficial.

The role will initially be fully site-based while you learn the operation, systems and stakeholders. Some hybrid flexibility may become possible once you are fully established in the position, subject to the needs of the site.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to take ownership, build broader HR experience and create practical improvements in a busy operational environment, join us and grow with Greencore.

What you’ll get in return

  • Competitive salary and job-related benefits
  • 33 days inclusive of Bank Hols (5/7 working)
  • Competitive matched pension contributions
  • Life insurance up to 4x salary
  • Company share save scheme
  • Greencore Qualifications
  • Exclusive Greencore employee discount platform
  • Access to a full Wellbeing Centre platform
  • Enhanced parental leave and menopause policies

Throughout your time at Greencore, you’ll be supported with on-the-job training and development opportunities to further your career.
