Now, we're on the lookout for an Associate Director, Social Intelligence to join our award-winning Intelligence Team.

The Opportunity

As a team we're here to create industry-first work, and we're looking for someone with that same hunger and excitement to do things a bit differently.

You'll join us as an Associate Director, Social Intelligence, reporting into the Head of Intelligence. This is a senior role within the team, taking ownership of high-value projects and client programmes across a portfolio of global and national brands.

You'll be known for great storytelling and insight generation, with strong commercial instincts. You'll manage high-value client programmes end to end, coach and mentor junior members of the team, and play a lead role in growing our client accounts and our reputation in the market.

Your clients : You'll manage high-value projects and client reporting programmes, taking full ownership of delivery, brief and budget. You'll act as a trusted senior partner to your clients, identifying opportunities to grow the scope of your accounts.

Projects: Confident leading a variety of insights project types, from social listening through to trends and audience work. You'll manage junior team members on projects and be responsible for the standard of what your team delivers.

New business: You'll lead new business pitches on behalf of the Insights team, with some oversight from the Head of Intelligence, and deliver proposals independently.

Commercial growth: Comfortable upselling your own work and coaching others to do the same while identifying opportunities to grow scope on the clients you lead.

People: You'll help the department stay innovative by proactively suggesting new reading, techniques and tools, and you'll foster a culture of learning and development in the team. There may be line management responsibility at this level.

Reputation: You'll help promote the agency through trade press or supported blogs, and represent Social Element at conferences and other networking events.

Culture & tech savvy: Understand what's happening in the zeitgeist, whether you get your news from TikTok or the web, while staying current on platform and social listening vendor changes.

What you'll do

• Lead insights projects end-to-end, from research design and analysis through to visualisation and delivery.

• Manage high-value client programmes, ensuring work is delivered on time, to brief and to budget.

• Lead new business pitches for the Insights team, with some oversight from the Head of Intelligence.

• Contribute to and lead on proposals and scopes in collaboration with the Head of Intelligence and Client Services.

• Identify opportunities to grow scope on the clients you lead.

• Coach and mentor junior members of the team, developing their craft and broader insights skills.

• Build strategic relationships across the agency, using these to identify new opportunities for your clients.

• Represent Social Element externally; through trade press, supported blogs, conferences and networking events.

Skills & Traits

• Strong experience in social and other insights tools (e.g. Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Talkwalker, Brandwatch). Experience with Global Web Index or similar is a bonus.

• Proven commercial experience e.g. comfortable upselling work and scoping/resourcing projects.

• Experience in line management, and ideally in innovating your own products or solutions.

• Fantastic attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.

• Honed storytelling skills, and confident presenting your own work and coaching others to present theirs.

• A curious, proactive approach with a can-do attitude.

• A team-oriented professional, able to work independently and stay self-motivated.

• Competent in Microsoft/Google Suite, with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel.

Experience

• Extensive experience working in a senior social intelligence role.

• Agency experience: social or integrated, but used to the agency way of working.

• Experience working for multi-market clients.

• Bonus: experience working on automotive, financial services, retail or travel accounts.
