We are currently working with a well-established secondary SEN school in Uxbridge (Hillingdon) that is looking to appoint an experienced Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and dedicated team.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong background in supporting students with highly complex needs , including ASD, PMLD, SLD, and associated medical and behavioural needs.

About the Role As a Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with significant learning difficulties and additional needs to access education in a safe and structured environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with complex needs
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Supporting students with communication needs (PECS, Makaton, etc.)
- Implementing EHCP targets and individual learning plans
- Managing behaviours positively using de-escalation techniques
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- A specialist secondary SEN school with a strong reputation in Hillingdon
- Caters for students with complex learning needs and disabilities
- Supportive senior leadership team and collaborative staff environment
- Excellent facilities tailored for students with additional needs
- Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people with complex SEN needs
- Experience supporting conditions such as ASD, PMLD, SLD, or physical disabilities
- Confidence supporting personal care and mobility needs (desirable but often essential)
- Strong behaviour management and emotional resilience
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach
- Work in a specialist environment with excellent support
