Teaching Assistant

£93 per day
Full-time

Teaching Assistants (x2) - Full Time | RCT | Start June, July & September

Weekly Salary - £465 - £500

A genuine opportunity to make an impact, feel supported and build a career in education.

At Educators First, we're currently working closely with two schools in RCT who are looking to bring in two full-time Teaching Assistants over the coming months. These roles are starting across June and September, and the schools are open-minded they're far more interested in the person than a perfect CV.

This is not just about filling a vacancy. These schools want people who will show up consistently, build relationships with pupils, and become a valued part of the team. If you're someone who wants to do something meaningful day-to-day, this is a strong place to start.

What the role will feel like day-to-day

You'll be working closely with pupils who need additional support to access education, both academically and emotionally. In reality, that means being adaptable. Some days you'll be helping a pupil stay focused in a lesson, other days you'll be supporting them through frustration, anxiety, or a lack of confidence.

A big part of the role is simply being a consistent, calm presence. Someone who can build trust over time and help pupils feel safe enough to engage.

Your day could involve:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
  • Helping them engage with classwork and routines
  • Managing moments of dysregulation or challenging behaviour
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Working closely with teachers and staff to support each pupil effectively

You'll be exposed to a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN). This can include Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language challenges, and behavioural needs. You won't be expected to know everything straight away but you will need to be willing to learn and adapt quickly.

Who tends to do well in these roles

These roles suit people who are naturally patient, grounded, and able to stay calm in situations that can sometimes feel unpredictable. It's not about having all the answers, it's about how you respond.

The candidates who are most successful are those who:

  • Have a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young people
  • Are intuitive and proactive, not waiting to be told what to do
  • Can handle challenges with calmness and resilience
  • Are willing to learn on the job and take initiative

We regularly place:

  • Graduates (Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sports, Drama)
  • Candidates with ALN/SEN, care or support work experience
  • Individuals from coaching, youth work or similar backgrounds

Experience is helpful, but it's not essential. The right attitude goes a long way in a school setting.

How you'll be supported by Educators First

We understand that stepping into a school, especially if it's new to you, can feel like a big jump. That's why we stay close to the process and make sure you're properly supported.

We'll take the time to understand what suits you and match you carefully to the right school. Where possible, we'll arrange trial days, so you can experience the environment before committing. Once you're in, we stay in regular contact, not just to check in, but to help you develop and progress.

Our aim is simple: to help you feel confident, supported, and clear on where this can take you.

Apply

If you're looking for something that feels purposeful, where you can grow while making a real difference, this is worth exploring.

Apply today and we'll talk you through the roles in more detail no pressure, just a proper conversation about whether it's the right fit for you.
