Part-time, Fixed Term Contract
Purpose of the Role
This is a Part-Time (0.7 FTE), fixed term post (24 months) attached to a Tenovus Scotland funded project. You will provide specialised technical and research support for a lab-based research project. The post-holder will lead the operational delivery of the project's experimental phase, carrying out advanced laboratory procedures in stem cell biology, managing the associated data to a high standard and preparing the manuscript for publications.

Your priorities will include
- Lead the experimental delivery of a lab-based research project focused on developing osteochondral organoid models using advanced stem cell culture techniques.
- Perform specialist laboratory procedures , including stem cell culture, maintenance, cryopreservation, and flow cytometry-based characterisation of stem cell populations.
- Manage and analyse research data , maintain accurate laboratory records, and prepare technical reports to support project objectives and dissemination activities.
- Drive research outputs , including manuscript preparation, submission to peer-reviewed journals, and responding to reviewer comments.
- Coordinate project operations and stakeholder engagement , working closely with clinicians, technical staff, suppliers, and collaborators to ensure efficient project delivery and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Who we're looking for
- Someone with a PhD in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Regenerative Medicine, or a related discipline.
- Extensive hands-on experience in stem cell culture and organoid development.
- Track record of publishing original research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
