A Sales Support Apprentice is required for a leading electrical wholesaler. The candidate will support the Sales Director doing general admin, sales, finance and marketing including social media duties. Fantastic career progression opportunity for the right candidate.

What you'll do at work

Reform Electrical is a local independent electrical wholesaler, putting customers at the forefront of the business looking for a Sales support Apprentice to work within their Southampton branch.

We are currently looking to recruit a full-time apprentice 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.

The sales support role is extremely varied; you will be required to work alongside the Sales support director

• Enter supplier invoices into our bespoke system
• Check for pricing and quantity anomalies
• Liaise with our branches
• Answering the telephone
• Checking customer invoices against store purchase orders
• Raising debits and credits
• Updating social media websites
• General PA duties
• Emails
• Quotes
• Sometimes helping on the trade counter when busy serving customers
• Also performing any other office-related work as required

Experience

• Office experience and Microsoft skills are essential

EDA Learning and Development will employ you whilst you are completing your apprenticeship qualification.

Apprenticeship qualification will be Business Admin Level 2 which is carried out within the workplace.  Allocated time will be allocated for you to complete work.

What you'll learn

• Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
• Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
• Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
• Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.
• Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms. Uses the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively. Training schedule

Completing a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship Standard, consisting of:

• Knowledge and competence qualification in Business Administration Level 3
• End-Point Assessment (EPA) - final test and observation

The vocational and academic training aspects are separated and delivered by separate teams. The vocational training and assessment are conducted, more often than not, on-site according to the employers wishes.

Notice of dates is agreed well in advance of a site visit. Training and assessment are conducted both on and off the job, according to the needs of the course and the learner. Every effort is made to ensure the best result is achieved by the learner.
