The Role

* Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
* Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
* Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of every pupil.
* Adapt learning resources and activities to support pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and wider support team.
* Support pupils with their social, emotional, communication, and behavioural development.
* Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
* Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and school events.
* Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

* Has experience working with children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
* Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant, Childcare, Education, or other appropriate qualification or has relevant experience.
* Demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom support skills.
* Has a good understanding of SEND and the different barriers that can affect learning.
* Is patient, caring, resilient, and committed to supporting children to reach their full potential.
* Has the ability to build positive relationships and adapt their approach to meet individual pupil needs.
* Promotes inclusive teaching practices and supports the needs of every child.
* Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
